V Rod is the better bike ( imnsho ) but will draw scorn from the Harley purists.

But if it is going to be a daily driver then I would go for the Dyna as a V Rod's handling in the wet can be a little twitchy - at least it is on my Night Rod - grab too much front brake and it will loose grip very easily ... :oooops:

V Rods also seem to be more expensive ...

A few years ago, possibly 2001, we did a practice day at Mallory Park and there were two 'liveried' Vrod's there.
They drew a lot of scorn from some of the people attending the practice session, until they saw them being hustled round at a fair lick. I was quite impressed, but then again, I'm a mere simpleton.....

Although I found the Drain Rod a hateful thing to pilot, Mr Loxton of this parish always assures me they can be hustled along ...... but then he would, wouldn't he lOl

The only time I piloted a V Rod was a courtesy bike from the HD shop in Holland. By the time I got it back to the shop I'd lost a pannier, complete with all the the shop manager's riding gear and GPS, and I'd also lost the keys (no-one told me you don't leave them in the ignition).

After that, the words "courtesy" and "HD shop" were never used in the same sentence lOl

If you're expecting standard 45 degree air cooled V-twin performance then think again ...

I didn't enjoy the Night Rod I rode at all.

The Dyna on the other hand, was quite good fun in a quirky load music playing sort of way. Tis an odd feeling being pulled forwards rather than pushed back by the wind blast once you get it upto speed mind.

All down to attitude, chaps. I may have more years behind me than most on this forum but I'm still a spring chicken in my mind. The 2012 V-Rods have also been made more ergonomic for those with a shorter inseam - footpegs and handlebars are closer than on earlier models. The engine is a peach but not in the way that this fruit is generally used on this forum lOl
