Preferably twin shock, but anything considered. Must be cheap..... going to set my mate up doing a bit of trialling to get him back to fitness. He had a bit of an off whilst racing in Ulster and I think a nice gentle trial or two might help him co-ordinate a bit better.

PS) It's a motor driven trials bike, not pedal type I'm after... ;)

I've got some old xl bits scattered around the sheds, including a couple of frames, a knackered engine and some wheels. But no trial bikes sadly.

Did you mean a 'trail bike' for green laning? Keep an eye out for an Yamaha XT500 or Honda XL500S or even an XL250S , hope is right ankle is strong.... If either have been rebored and tight, good kickback if you get it wrong.

Does he need a twin shock? Look at an old Honda NX650 Dominator, or Yamaha xt600e , they are bargain money now....The old dominators with electric/kick are a hard act to follow....(Don't get the newer >94 models from Italy with Leccie start only)

If you mean't a proper 'Trials' bike (dougie lampkin style) I would look out for a Yamaha TY250, cheap as chips....or a Honda TLR200/250. (buy a copy of Trials and MX news , they will in the classifieds http://www.tmxnews.co.uk/)

Good luck

He says......
I increased the gear ratio (now a little higher) by replacing the 50 on the rear with a 53 (I think), so it's a little better for road use.

 lOl
Probably a factory trained bike mechanic......
