I need a good working sidestand switch ASAP for my 2004 XB12 to comply with the SVA inspection. Any help appreciated, thanks.

2004 XB12 do not have a sidestand switch IIRC.

Why do you need an SVA? Surely a homologation certificate from Buell UK or a dealer will be sufficient to register the vehicle, which is what I assume you are doing...

So that's why there isn't one there. I looked in the manual and it shows a cut-out switch on the sidestand. So what's fitted to prevent riding off with the sidestand down - besides stupidity? And which XBs, as seen in my manual, have this switch?

This bike is an import without docs and the DVLA want an SVA certificate before they'll register it, so that's what I have to do to make them happy. I have a regular MOT and a letter dating the bike from the VIN#, but from previous dealings with SVA testing I know that they require a cut-out switch on the sidestand, so I'm going to have to fit one whether the bike had one as standard or not.

See the reply I gave to Gunter.
