The old stuff is just so much more fun to shoot. Maybe just because they have so much history???
My 1910 bsa improved model d could have been bought as someone's 16th birthday present, then the poor bugger went to france never to return.

That's why so many of the pre WW1 bsas are available, with plenty being as new. Got put away and then forgotten about by the rest of the family. :(

Missed out on a Webley service MkII today :headbang: sold loads of 1125 bits last night, the gun's been for sale for at least 3months, phoned this morning and it was sold yesterday :sad1: GUTTED!!!

always loads of air rifels at the auto jumble up here ..can keep you posted wots there next time im there :yup:

Nice one Willy :4roz:

Regularly, but very few bargains to be found. Word of mouth is the best :D

And I'm going to try finding some local auctions - house hold types. But doesn't seem to be anything regular listed on line.

A friend of a friend and found in a loft is where the real goodies are though :yup:

I pop on there occasionaly, mainly modern stuff.

I regularly google the rifles I really want for my collection, unfortunately most that appear are dealers and vastly inflated prices.

Off to Boston on Thursday to collect a Webley MkII service rifle, found via Collectors Corner on the Airgun BBS :yup: A sensible price too :D

Lots more on my list though, BSA standards, light, ladies and junior models, plus Breakdown model, all pre-war, Airsporters, Mks 1-3 and club. Merlin, Meteor Mk 1 and a Mercury Mk1 in .177, should keep me occupied for awhile :rotfl: and out of trouble. Not the worst investments at the moment.

If you want to restore the raw steel finish of unblacked parts on guns, esp. if they've been left to rust, bung the parts in a bucket of mollasses for a couple of days. They'll come out as good as new :yup: I cleaned up an Indian Chief tool kit I was given like this, and some of the parts were too fragile to blast.

What have I started???!!!

I was right, people who like bikes like guns :D

I had loads of messages trying to sell the torque hammer on the bay, one guy rang me up and it took about an hour to go through his air gun collection.

I'd forgotten how much fun they are lOl Definitely reminds me of younger times, nice being able to afford pellets now though :rotfl:

Some good stuff there Willy!!! And some collectables, by all accounts the strirling was a bit of an aquired taste :)
