Have any of you guys got a front rim disc for an Lightning XB 12 SS 2007. Mine has developed a bit of a warp. Alternatively does anybody know if the disc can be skimmed?

Thanks lots

Darren

Is it definitely warped and not just gummed up on it's mountings or suffering from pad material deposited on the surface and just needing a good clean? ............ more suffer from crap than from actually being warped ;)

Oh OK Kev, thanks for that pointer. I changed the pads for something a little harder that ripped all the crap off the disc over the summer. So what gets gummed up? should I take the disc off and clean all the mounts up?

They say that the mounting kit that EBR sells is an improvement over the original but i've not tried it .......also others have just cleaned up the original mountings and reported good results .
I've done neither myself as i've so far not had any problems.

Front wheel bearings had collapsed.......disc only has 0.006'' run out and mounting hardware is good but surface shows signs of corrosion/pitting.
Also head bearings were toast.
Also, rear wheel bearings were bolloxed......drive side was seized solid resulting in the outer race spinning in the hub = wheel is scrap.......this bike has 15K on the clock and no FS tensioner :headbang:
I last serviced it at 5K and had to change the wheel bearings, Wobbler has 'serviced' it since then ie. it never had a 10K service :)
