I have one that I intend to use when my new shock arrives, but that is maybe a month off.

You are welcome to borrow it until my shock arrives, and hopefully you will have sorted yourself out by then.

Is that a short shock or a long shock mount ;)

hope you don't find me jumping in on this one, combining the long shock with the short shock mount, how would that effect the geometry? i expect the ride height would be lowered, anybody any idea by how much and how would that affect handling etc?

It would be a no-no I would have thought as the travel of the shock would still be the same but the room available would be reduced and tyre hitting bodywork issues etc. Possibbly it would work the other way short shock with long mount would increase the ride height but the shock travel again would still be the same so purely cosmetic.

Can't remember the difference in shock lengths but I'd say it would make a substantial difference in ride height at the rear which would have quite a major affect on the handling if the front was left the same as standard .........also you'd be very very likely to hit the hugger /rear tyre on the undertray if you hit any potholes.

thanks for that guys, just interested as i have seen some photos of s1 lightnings posted by U.S. owners which appear to be much lower at the seat. also remember seeing a you tube video uploaded by a dutch owner who had revamped his s1 and i think the seat height had been lowered by fitting a short shock bracket to a long shock.
