Thanks for the tips guys, i have now bought a yellow/gold XB wheel(as new condition) with a nearly new Bridgestone bt 014 tyre, got it for £190 inc delivery.

Is this a good price ??

I will use my old wheel as a test, i was thinking perhaps it could be machined to take slightly larger bearings ? And this may also solve the problem of failing bearings ?

Any thoughts...

Seems a reasonable deal. I've got 014's on my No.2 X1 and they seem pretty good. I dunno if you've ever fitted/changed a Bridgestone tyre, but even if you're into that kind of m'larky, get someone else (you trust) to remove it, this brand seems particularly gnarly for some reason :?

Yes I have fitted 2 Tyres in my time, a pirelli on the front, was a doddle, so I thought I would pop a rear on at a later date, that turned out to be a bridgestone bt021, never again am I fitting Tyres, I found a guy that does it for £15 Inc balance if you give him the loose wheel.

Saves all my knuckles, I don't need to sweat or swear nor scratch my wheel. No brainer :)

Pash did a Bridgestone Bt021 for me and it was the toughest tyre ever. Thought it was a bit old but it seems from the comments on here that they are all like that sir. Good tyre though for commuting as they don't square off and the grip is enough for me.

I don't think there will be enough metal to remove to go oversize unfortunately :sad1:

if you could find & TRUST a m/c shop ,the back wheel will take 6206 2rs bearings ,youll have to machine 3 mm off the near side swing arm threaded boss ,loose 3 mm of spindal engagement when the rear end assembled ,this keeps the wheel center correct ,ooa static load capacity goes up 40 percent :old:
