At race meetings you can listen to the marshal's radio communications...... and aircraft, taxis et cetera..... it requires 240v feed. Not a hand held type, a proper home base scanner. Similar size to a car stereo......... |

VTS gone Digi? Must be loads of small vessels still not digi? Like Spen said all that plus lots of other intresting things, baby monitors are like bugs in peoples houses  the international space station can still be heard on the 143Mhz freq's, loads of private boat channels and aircraft company freq's to listen to, 2 way 446Mhz comms can be very active.Like fishing though, some times scanners pick up loads another time its very quiet, as the sun spot activity picks up you will be able to listen to loads of USA local comms, (fire, police etc) down in the 30Mhz areas. just a few tips so grab a bargain from Spen
