There is a independent secondhand bike dealer near me(a customer of mine as it happens) who sends about 30 Harleys and Buells to the continent to sell every week or two, the prices on the continent are much higher than here, but bear in mind if you are selling to the Mitch`s amongst us your bike has to have all TUV approved parts on it,the ruddy Germans are a lot more strict than us

if the bike is mostly stock, then the only difference is the headlamp, but a CoC needs to be delivered with the bike, as Buell Germany used to charge 1000+ EUR for that (no, that's not a typing mistake  , therefore I don't feel much pity these bastards are history now), so chances are, you won't get your bike sold without.

I'm just mulling over the options now.

Had interest at home and from Germany-after reading the above I reckon selling it to a UK based will be safer/easier?

If someone from across the pond were to want to come and buy it what costs would I have to stump up?

As we are talking Buell, it's definitely not "center of competence" ...

Surely if you are selling your bike, you simply take the cash from the first person that turns up with it.
If it is going abroad, you simply tick the box on the V5 for permanent export. It is not your problem how they get the thing legal in their own country.

Exactly the same for me, couldn't have been easier. He had already paypal'd me £200 as a deposit, and then turned up about a month later with the balance in £50 notes and some nice German Beer.
If you are prepared to wait you will almost certainly get more money for it going to Germany. If you have a decent offer from the UK then the world is your lobster.
