 Post subject: Oil level check

:? Seems like a stupid question but here goes my head says it should be upright but book says on side stand I've checked the oil on my recently acquired Uly and its way above the overfill mark practiclly to top of dip stick can someone confirm how to check level, bike was hot after a 15 min run cheers John

Hi & welcome.

The oil level must be checked while on the side stand, seems strange I know but it is correct.

Seems like yours is overfilled & I'm sure someone will confirm.

Thanks for prompt replies will get a tube and syringe out and start losing some, going off to applecross tomorrow so wanted everything right, bought a litre of fresh top up oil prior to checking the level never dreamt it would have been overfilled by I assume the previous owner and not the last bike shop service, thanks again John
