At last, our Ulysses is back on the road. First ride today after a major Winter service, approx. £600 spent in parts and lots of TLC.

Life is good  ......

All my own work, I'm proud to say.....

In addition to normal service items it had new HT leads, tyres, belt, rear disc, brake hoses, and all chassis/wheel bearings were replaced while it was stripped down. Total mileage now 60,190.

Well done Chris :yup: ......so glad to read this as peeps often accuse me of being over zealous with 10K services.
What mileage was on the head bearings and what were they like ?
What fork oil did you use and how did you set them up ?
I presume you took care of the usual wiring harness issues ?
Why did you change the brake hoses ?.....and what did you fit ?
What brake pads are you using ?
At 60K, what are the front exhaust studs and nuts looking like ?
Did you strip and clean the IAC ?
Assuming you have Mono, what fan settings do you use ?
Is your FS tensioner still OK ?
How were the rear caliper slides ?
What brake fluid did you use ?
What's the condition of the front disc mounting hardware ?
Is the rear shock still good ?
......and now you understand why copperslip is your best friend ;)

Oh, and a new battery was fitted, Yuasa YTX14H-BS.

I’m not nervous :D .......

What mileage was on the head bearings and what were they like ?
12,768, slightly rough, no external corrosion. They’ve been worse.

What fork oil did you use and how did you set them up ?
HD Type E, oil level 114mm.

I presume you took care of the usual wiring harness issues ?
I did that years ago following advice on this website.

Why did you change the brake hoses ?.....and what did you fit ?
Corroded original end fittings, HEL.

What brake pads are you using ?
Front EBC FA345HH, rear EBC FA140HH.

At 60K, what are the front exhaust studs and nuts looking like ?
Not brilliant, won’t touch unless I have to.

Did you strip and clean the IAC ? No.

Assuming you have Mono, what fan settings do you use ?
Runs as bike left factory. Last set by Jon @ Black Bear. Fan is original and bearings still OK.

Is your FS tensioner still OK ?
Fully refurbished and new pulley wheel fitted @ 40,370.

How were the rear caliper slides ?
Very good.

What brake fluid did you use ?
Halfords DOT4.

What's the condition of the front disc mounting hardware ?
Disc original, good, no issues.

Is the rear shock still good ?
Yes, no leaks, corrosion or handling issues.

......and now you understand why copperslip is your best friend
