Ever the romantic :4roz:, Jane has suggested we try holding this event again next Sunday, Valentines Day.

I've been instructed, under duress I might add, that if any ladies attend I have to buy them lunch :ill: to celebrate the day.

We're bound to have some good weather soon - but this event has a weather permitting clause.

Meet between 11.00 and 11.30 am at the Little Chef, Thirsk, A168.

Location details: here

There will be a tour of the area, with a stop for lunch.

Wellllllllllllllllllll if you're buying I could be persuaded Chris ;) lOl It all depends on how my knee is progressing though Im still waiting on an MRI scan on it to see how much damage has been done. That said we have already tried the Digger mounting method to go get a new tyre from Maz :yup: lOl

Hi Terry

Last Sunday was a real disappointment. We're eager (no, make that desperate :D) to get things rolling this year and find this current weather situation very frustrating. Most of the decent days recently have occurred during the working week.

I hesitate to post another link but you'll be glad to know that this Sunday has a decent(ish) weather forecast so, as you say, fingers crossed....

Like last week, I'll post a message no later than 6.00 pm on Saturday if we decide to cancel.

This event is still on. We'll be at the Little Chef as planned ...

The weather won't be perfect but it's far better than last weekend.

Our ultimate destination is Whitby and the offer of me buying lunch for any ladies that attend still stands - unfortunately :D :oooops:...

We must thank Terry and his daughter, Lucy for keeping us company today.

Despite the cold and occasional showers we still had a brilliant day. We've ridden some great roads through picturesque scenery, covering 223 miles in total.

After leaving the Little Chef we headed up the A19 and turned off onto unclassified roads which took us through the Cleveland Hills. This was a lovely route along narrow twisty roads and brought us out onto the A172 to Stokesley. From there we headed down the B1257 to Helmsley. The B1257 has to be one of the best roads in the region - even when it's wet and there's snow lying on the verges. From Helmsley we took the A170 to Pickering and then the A169 across the North York Moors to Whitby.

Whitby was busy but we managed to find a suitable parking spot for our two Buells next to the harbour. Our fish & chips went down a treat and Jane became very popular with several seagulls.

A no expense spared Valentines treat for Jane:

Sorry we couldnt make it CJ but the distance would have been just too much for Tig's knee. Keep the plans coming though and we will be sure to get to more than a few of them ;)

Hi Rick - don't worry, I won't stop organising and posting ideas for rides and events. Not everything we do is a success in terms of numbers attending but that's no reason for not doing them.

The next meet-n-ride is this coming Sunday, 21st.
