Hopefully join you on Sunday 1st April and it would be rude not to catch up on the Saturday night for a beer or two since you are staying only a mile up the road.

Garage also available if there are any running repairs required.

Giving this some consideration, been a while since did some serious mileage.
Last time around the UK was anti-clockwise so may choose the alternative.

Del, thanks for your interest.

In fact, we've been blown away by the amount of interest shown in this event. Thanks to everyone who has responded so far.

Magz is offshore but I’ll be there - I never miss an opportunity to visit the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge and pay my respects.

I’ll get a room booked. :yup:

Room booked. £82 for B&B. It was a bloody nightmare - it’s nice when they can speak English ;)

Still, booked now :yup:

Is this a group ride as wanting to join others to do this but looks like people are doing there own thing!
Can people post where they are starting and finishing so I can make my mind up which way round to do this. Sounds like fun although a sore arse may be the order of the day! Is this going to be motorway miles as don’t really like motorways. I assume a hotel with an accommodating bar would be advisable after a hard days riding.

I’m joining at the Forth Rail Bridge at South Queensferry and continuing from there, leaving at Glasgow the following day. Scotland phase is 30th - 31st.

I’m not sure where the RV is but there’s plenty of time for that :D

Clive, that's great news, we're pleased that you've managed to book for the Scottish section on the 30th/31st. We'll confirm our RV nearer the event.

Nick, thanks for your interest. I think it will be quite awhile before we have a full idea of who's starting and finishing at which bridges etc. I can only speak about our plans at the moment. We'll be avoiding motorways wherever possible but there's a few short sections included our route planning. Our choice of accommodation is based on 'long distance traveller friendly' check-in times at reception. Spean Bridge Hotel is 14:00 to 23:30, Holiday Inn Preston South is 14:00 to 23:00 and The Crown, Aldbourne is 14:00 to 23:00. All three locations have bars open till late and; at the time of booking on the 29th December, had a good selection of rooms available. I would advise booking accommodation sooner rather than later because of high demand on a Bank Holiday weekend. Hope that helps :yup:...

When I spoke to Spean Bridge Hotel today they said they didn’t have many rooms left. So what CJ said, book sooner rather than later :yup:

Well I wanted to meet up at Spean Bridge so I've flexed my Challenge days slightly ;) Planning to start from Clifton Suspension Bridge Thursday am, get up to the Menai Bridge then stop with friends in North Wales before motoring up to Spean Bridge on the Friday. Have booked a single room but looks like they only have one or two left now.

Hoping to get to Skye Bridge Saturday am then cross to the East coast and get down somewhere near Scarborough that night. With luck I will then get to Tower Bridge then home on Easter Sunday.

It's all quite a big ask of my battered body (haven't done more than 100 miles in a day since my accident) but what's a Challenge if you don't push yourself? lOl

Steve

Steve, you're a man with a plan, glad you've got it all worked out. See you at the Spean Bridge Hotel on the 30th March :P .....
