Thanks Pash, when the seat was off, I had a good look and saw evidence of the seat rubbing on the grey connector. Not sure if it's me (15 stone kitted) or the previous owner, thought best not gamble with the ecm.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have gone for the Palmer's bracket (earlier link), nicely made and sturdy. I have had to put in a couple of really tight radius bends in to accommodate the lights I bought,
When it came to putting it all together, I found the lights bought had a little mode that I was unaware of f*****g strobe, and each time they are activated they move through the different modes including strobe.
Lights are in the bin different ones on order.

Hi everyone, just like to point you all to these lights. I use them as floods or spots on the boats. They appear to be built pretty bullet proof as we have not had one failure since we started using them in 2010, and when the dredging kit comes on board things do get a bit shook up. For deck lights we use the 10 or 12 inch combo versions up the "A" frame or on the mast. They do make them in small sizes as you will see from the site. Have a look at the d2 dually series.

I'm not selling these or am I an agent, but just thinking that they would go well on the aux lighting set up. They're not cheap but they do work, and work well. Have a look on YouTube at the videos.
Cheers. Tadpole :yup:

Thanks Tadpole, nice lights, a little late for me unfortunatly as replacements are on the way.
Expensive - not if it prevents you buying having to buy and buy again like me (hoping the replacements work out!)

Well Tadpole, was really impressed with the Rigid Industry lights you suggested, convinced myself they were the way to go - then the tight gene kicked in. Loved the lights, but a little rich for what is 5% of my riding time, ended up buying what looks like a copy for little money from China.

The good - vast improvement with minimal power requirements, metal body and appear sturdy.

The bad - the lights themselves are not ' handed' and I opened one up to see if I could swap the end caps round to keep the wiring tidy, wish I hadn't _ very rough on the inside. Packed both lights with non conductive bearing grease to give me some longevity.

Currently looking good and working well.

Happy with, went with the 30° spot lights. They give extra distance over the headlight and light the ditches up nicely. Would have preferred the Rigid ones, just couldn't justify. £200+ for a pair, I'm not out at night that often on the XT
