I've had a couple of bikes with Nickle plated frames, a Featherbed and a Mettisse. Both were a nightmare to live with and needed constant polishing to keep corrosion free, especially in nooks and crannies such as behind gussets etc. Apparently, Nickle does doesn't like to 'throw' itself, for want of a better term, into restricted areas during electroplating, so it can be a bit thin in these areas.
Isn't is so that they first copper the parts and afther that nickel plating!?
I have seen that done with fuel tanks and fenders etc ,so it would be possible with a frame to i guess.
i also did understand that the copper is better against the rust and makes the nickel shinier!
