Ok spoke with albert but have found my local powder coater has a super coating for high temp baked at 1200 degrees Celsius for a cost of 120 pounds so I'mgoing to give that a go.
If it does not work out I will be knocking on your door.

That may be the case but I've hacked fairly new std exhausts open to carry out the 'Tubbs modification' (rearranging the tubes inside) and found a lot of internal rot. I think it would only be a matter of time before they rust through from the inside :?

For the cost of the coating, to hope that it lasts, and the can isn't already rotten inside, surely it's worth just paying the extra for a stainless can, and then you can choose how you want the ends to be...

Got mine, with a Maz bracket and onto Buell pro race headers......really pleased with it. Peter is really helpful as well!!!!!!

I've gotten as far as installing the header only. I have so many projects going on in my garage right now that I can't access the Buell. That front muffler bracket was an absolute pain in the ass to fit up, so it needed some mods to keep from having to force it all together. Putting the header under stress is a recipe for shearing header studs. I'd like to see some pics of how the muffler is attached at the rear with those two plates.

Have you got the Maz bracket? I have it fitted on three of my Buells and never had an issue. Have you fitted it right?

As for the two plates at the back, it all falls into place, you can't go wrong...

Thinking about it, I fitted everything loose to start off with, so muffler too, before tightening up the Maz bracket.

My black S1 has done in excess of 12k miles without header stud issues.

Thanks. The issue I had with the MAz bracket was I couldn't get the holes to line up. They were off about 10mm. Some of it was due to the front clamp needing to be deformed past it's yield to fit the shape of the collector. But it still needed more help. So the holes became slots. Otherwise, I was pulling the header and potentially stressing the studs while vibrating down the road. I'm sure it was just fabrication tolerances in the header.

I'll have to remove the Z-bracket in the rear according to your pic. But I need to source the fasteners for the job. The D&D I had on it used the Z and didn't require the OEM spacers, so they're non-existent.

Now, I just have to get the kid's crap out of my gagrage so I can dig out the bike. All of them actually. He moved in with with some trollup and thinks my sanctuary is a permanent storage locker. :evil:

Hey, did you happen to have the OEM Race ECM map for the full Pro-Series system?

Yes. Where shall I send it? What firmware do you have?

As for the two plates, two 1/2" UNF Allen screws with nylon nuts (M8 are what I use) will do the trick using the rubber bungs in the swing arm bracket.

I'm not sure. Doe it matter for the map? Or are you suggesting there is an improved firmware and that you also have the latest of that too?

Sorry to resume this defunct post and to ask questions already asked.
I did quite a lot of research before getting here, so i hope you don't mind.
I am after an x1 exhaust that is less loud than my v&h.
I have repacked it and it is much better but still a tad higher than my taste.
My other requirement is that i keep the stock (blue) headers as i don't want to start messing up with rusted headers bolts etc.
Reading this post it sounds the pipeworx is quieter than the original prorace (good) but needs header's replacement?
Can i then buy the slip on elbow part from Albert and instead use the pipeworks can as a slip on with original headers
Is the pipeworx supplied with the necessary brackets?
Does it have a good front bracket as well as i am nervous front vibrations will cause stress on the header bolts further up.
Lastly, any info on this hammerperformance slip on sold by twinmotorcycles.nl? (It has a funny spring suspended bracket at the front that seems prone to vibrations in fact..)

You'll find that the Pipewerx 'silencer' is louder than the V & H silencer. It has a deep basey growl to it. I repacked my S1 V&H silencer and it made a big difference
