Buell history, hospitality and a snowy adventure; (even escaping the great Swedish terror incident of Feb 2017), makes for a smashing weekend. Ta for sharing :yup:

Thanks for the excellent response, I enjoyed putting this report together. It took me back to the days of the original UKBEG American Thunder magazine.

Since buying our S1 in May 1997 (it's 20 years old this year!) and starting UKBEG in April 1998 we've been incredibly lucky to meet so many nice people that share our passion for these idiosyncratic American motorcycles. Sure, there's been a few ups and downs along the way but we wouldn't have changed a thing during the last 19 years.

It seems like everything has been steadily building towards the 29th May 2017, when Erik Buell :worthy: will actually attend a UKBEG event.

I'm also privileged to count Jens and Birgit among my friends. They were the first EBR dealer in Scandinavia and gave us phenomenal support when things weren't looking too good in East Troy.

Jens booked a stand for us to exhibit the EBR range at MC Massan (the Swedish equivalent of the NEC Show) in Stockholm early in 2015. The whole event was run on a shoestring with a massive effort from NCCR. I flew out on a budget airline ticket, Birgit met me at the airport, Par's mother vacated her flat for three days and Jens, Birgit, Julia, Par and myself moved in.

Over the three days we signed up two more dealers, sold three new EBRs and Jens regaled me with no end of tales of Buell in Europe and the US. Jens is German and started http://www.buellparts.de (a serious online parts distributor), he also started Hillbilly Motors which keen enthusiasts will remember for their customised Hellbender (a bright red, firebreathing XB12SS) before moving to Sweden to start NCCR.

He also worked closely with Buell stunt rider, Craig Jones and was the brains behind Craig's speed and wheelie records on ice which many of you will have seen photos of.

Their racing achievements which CJ has mentioned were phenomenal and their enthusiasm and passion for the Buell brand are second to none. I am also proud to have a signed copy of "The Buell Book", I can't read German but I'm good at looking at pictures 8-)

Steve
