Hi All,

New to the forum and I could do with some advice. I've been looking for an XB12S for a while and I think I have finally found one I like.

2006, Bog standard, 4500 miles, one owner. Is there anything I need to look out for?

I've ridden and owned loads of bikes, but never owned a Buell. I had a brief ride on a Lightning about 10 years ago and I was really impressed.

I've only seen the photo's, it's 100 miles away, so will look at it next week, hopefully.

Tensioner looks standard.

I'll have to check the output bearing. Is it an outrigger type?

I'll check for dents and the wheel bearings when I see it.

at that low a mileage , dont sweat them not being done, but factor it in asap
there are carbon covers that can cover damage to the frame ,so just something to be aware of
not the end of the world , but a bargaining point :yup:

I'd love to pop in, but it will probably be springtime. I live in Inskip now (small village between Preston and Blackpool), but I am actually a softy southerner.

Thanks for all your replies so far. This seems like a really friendly forum.

Make you you don't let down the good name of Southern Softies while you are up there. :old: Good luck with the bike, a good place to own one :yup:

Well, I wont be a Buell owner just yet.

Spoke to dealer in the morning (yesterday) and couldn't quite get to a deal. Texted and emailed with a counter-offer in the afternoon, but no response from the dealer. Phoned up this morning and he says it's sold.

Very disappointed, but still on the hunt.

If it was the one at Jemspeed it looks immaculate, if a bit pricey

Yes, it was. I think I may have had a lucky escape as the guy has a different story every day.

Got an XB12SS today. Unfortunately, I can't ride it yet as the previous owner is swapping out the private plate and I don't have a registration yet.

:yup: :yup: I can see the air box cover is aftermarket, is the rest of the bodywork genuine carbon or carbon wrapped. Does it have a free spirits belt tensioner. What sort of mileage does it have. Looks clean
