So far, so good. Showers were forecast for this afternoon in the north but all we've seen are a few spits and spots, it's been mostly warm and sunny.

Our accommodation in the village of Norg is spot on. We're renting a beautiful converted farm house with a thatched roof and safe undercover parking for the bikes.

Absolutely nothing to do with Buells but today we've had a great 220 mile round trip down to Nijmegen to see our very good friends at Teo Lamers, one of Europe's leading Moto Guzzi dealers.

They always have a good selection of modern and classic Guzzis for sale - http://www.tlm.nl

The immaculate and practically unmarked black Quota in the pictures was sold for 4,000 Euro to a guy in England and will be shipped next week.

I've just landed and dropped everything off at the hotel ready to head to the britten talk.
Never ever go to a motorcycle event without a bike! It's driving me crazy!

Yesterday evening we attended the Britten lecture in the TT Institute at the Assen circuit. Tickets were limited to just 35 peeps so we were lucky to be able to book ours before we left England.

It lasted over 2 hours and covered every aspect of the bikes design and history. The guys from New Zealand and the USA were brilliant. It was a memorable evening and one of the highlights of this weeks visit to the Netherlands.

In the group picture, left to right:
Black and yellow bike owner, Bob Robbins, USA.
Blue and pink bike owner, Kevin Grant, NZ.
Rider, Stephen Briggs.
Rider, Andrew Stroud.

We've had a cracking afternoon at the Assen circuit. Today was qualifying for tomorrows races so we spent most of our time chilling out and having a good look around the paddock etc.

EBR rider, Bertus Folkertsma, made us very welcome and offered us the use of his teams hospitality. He now runs four 1190's and has managed to attract some big name sponsors. It's a very professional setup.

Race day at Assen and it didn't disappoint, lots of great track action and good weather until the end of the afternoon when we had a few spits and spots of rain. The Ducati Club Netherlands peeps will have been very pleased with the attendance today. There must have been 200+ Ducatis in the bike park, the most we've ever seen at this event.

To see and hear the Brittens being ridden at the 'Cathedral of Speed' is something we'll never forget. Andrew Stroud was riding the blue and pink Britten F002. He was clearly enjoying himself, pulling a wheelie the full length of the start/finish straight. Jane managed to capture the whole thing on video.

We thought the Brittens would only be doing a few demo laps but they tagged on the back of the Battle of the Twins revival race so completed many laps at decent speeds.

Top picture, we managed to meet up with Walter (Dewalt) and spent a very pleasurable couple of hours in his company. We managed to lose sight of him in the mêlée just prior to the Brittens being wheeled into the pit lane. To say these bikes attracted a lot of interest would be an understatement!

EBR 1190 rider, Bertus Folkertsma, came 5th in the Twin Cup race. He made a fantastic start from 5th on the grid, leading into the first corner but was gradually overtaken as the race progressed.

Kevin is a really nice bloke, and a bit of Buell enthusiast too. When I spoke to him, he was on the verge of buying one.

I got the impression both Kevin and Bob are avid collectors of motorcycles but don't want to treat them as museum pieces, they'd much rather see them ridden, no matter how rare or how much money they're worth. Both the owners of these Brittens are very approachable and gladly spared the time to talk to everyone.

All being well they're hoping to attend the Classic TT in 2017.
