Current ride: M2 Cyclone
Hi I am not only new to Buell's but new to motorbikes.
I have recently been left a M2 Cyclone as my mothers partner passed. He was big in to his Buell's and may even have been a member on here. Once its out the workshop Im happy to post a photo to see if anyone recognises it.
I have also have a X1 Lightning and a M2 Cyclone engine which I wish to sell. Would someone be able to give me a rough idea how much they may be worth and where best to sell them?

The engine came from America and I believe it to have low millage but have no way of confirming this.
The X1 lightning is in very good condition and is getting a new battery and a service now. I have photos if anyone is interested?

Welcome to the site. Regarding the spare M2 engine, the good news is that they are easily sellable. I suppose there is a going rate for them, but, apart from mileage and general condition, it will be worth more or less depending on year. 97-98 engines have lightning heads and have flat top pistons. The heads are plain alloy colour. 99-02 engines have more desirable thunderstorm heads and pistons. These heads are black. The thunderstorm engine is more desirable and should sell for more. Please note that all M2 engines from the US market are fitted with standard Sportster cam shafts. European export M2's of all years have the more desirable Screaming Eagle bolt in cams. I imagine the typical chopper builder type buyer would be less bothered by this than a Buell owning buyer. The motor should sell easily. HTH.

I like the X1. It looks pretty much stock apart from silencer. Stock bikes are pretty rare. Do you have the standard muffler, if so that will help it sell? Generally, the later bikes are more desirable I don't know the year of that bike, so I reckon you're looking at £3.8 to £4k for it.

The M2 motor looks good too, it is a later engine.

Thanks thats good news about the motor.
Is there any way of telling what motor I have?
I believe it to be from America but dont know 100%
I think there is an original exhaust there somewhere.
The bike is a 20002

Well, it's obviously a late M2 motor. You should be able to tell from the engine number more about it. The number is on the left side of the crankcase.

It's good that the X1 is late and good you have the muffler. I wouldn't take less than £4k. The right buyer might pay more as it is so stock and a late model. My only slight doubt is the wheels, that colour may not be original for that bike?

Thanks for the help .
Where would be best to advertise the engine? Would it be best on here or eBay? Also any idea of rough value?
Sorry for all the questions just trying to sort this out for my mother.

Post on here, post on Facebook Buell groups. To be honest, in times past that motor would have already been snapped up by someone here, but it seems hardly anyone comes here any more. I should imagine a chopper builder would snap that up off Ebay. I can't remember how much these usually sell for actually.
