Thanks again to all for the warm welcome, in just over a week from joining , I've managed to meet a few of you down at the Southern Softies monthly drink in the New Forest and sat on a new 1190 RX.

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18427&start=45

I was in blissful ignorance of some of the issues until meeting up and trawling the forum :o So whilst I have put new tyres on the bike (Pirelli Angel GTs) I have decided that before I spend anymore, or ride it too much, I need to attend to a few essentials which I understand to be: -

Lucky Hands oil pump drive gear
FS tensioner (with grease nipple fitted?)
Replace seal on end of output shaft with Maz's mod of blanking disc with grease nipple.

Have I missed anything really essential? it's an XBR 12R 2005 build on an 06 plate. I didn't replace the wheel bearings at this tyre change but they seemed fine.

Manchester is a fair way for me, but i will give Maz a call, maybe I can work something out, I am going overseas for a while, so it could be towards end of summer before I can get these items attended to. In the mean time I'm planning to slit the middle of the oil seal at the end of the output shaft and introduce 5-10ml of transmission oil via a hypodermic syringe (thoughts? )

Finally I have very minor coating damage to the rear wheel - before refurbishing the wheels I want to get the engine mods seen to. Has anybody got any tips for some paint that would provide some protection and match the std orange colour as close as possible.

Cheers, Skri

There is a touch up paint for the wheels, I am sure the paint part number has been posted before.

Good to meet you the other day, Ian, you looked great on the EBR1190RX lOl

Wheel colour is Amber if you're talking to an H-D dealer to source it.

Admire you for making the effort to ride down to the Southern Softies meeting the other day. Hope they didn't put you off too much :D

Steve

Hi All, back on line after being away a while..............

Was working in Angola on a 4 week rotation which was great, but just over a year ago I had to go resident - i.e. live in Angola, with any visit to the UK being part of my holiday :o

I got a stone through the belt on a visit home early last year and during the summer got persuaded by a mate to buy a ZZR1100 which was super fast,, but didn't go around corners or stop! so I spent some time on this rather than the Buell

Back in UK on holiday right now and used the other bikes - and sad to see the Buell sitting there with a hole in the belt - so will try and order one before I go back "home" to Luanda at end of week so spare is ready for me next time back - Is BB still the best bet for a mail order belt?

Any thoughts on minor damage to sprockets and idler wheel? I will post pictures in a separate thread

Cheers
