Doing some maintenance today and noticed hairline cracks all over the belt. Is this a sign of impending doom, or do they all look like this sir :?: It's my first belt, and has done 27,000 miles.

I'm no expert, but the belt on my FXDX looked worse than that and it had a central hole punched through it by a chipping in the John O Groats car park. It lasted until I did a precautionary change, because I wanted to sell the lardy tank lOl

No, one of the reasons I was having a close look was because of a squeaking sound from the Free Spirits tensioner, just needed some lubrication on the hinge (for want of a more professional sounding word) :P

Yes, the problem was tightening it up again, couldn't get the axle lined up with the tensioner on, so it was a bit jiggling around of axle and tensioner at the same time.
