I have always been proud to say that I will only ever fit genuine parts for my customers.
I spend circa 22K every year buying these parts from various official dealers throughout Europe and the USA.
However, given the current state of affairs, I will now be concentrating on the aftermarket for my parts supply.......nice one H-D and fuck you very much

We are all going to end up like the Cubans, piecing together their 1950's Chevrolets with whatever odd bits they can get their hands on to keep the old beasts on the road.

I would be happy to own a 1950 Chevrolet ... but instead, I got a 2003 Buell only

Chicago HD sent me a mail lately, that they received most of my parts ordered (in November 2010), except front axle spacers and a primary chain adjuster, which are still on back order till end of April.

Is there a parts manual available for my '03 Firebolt, which has the updated part numbers listed?
Yes, I understood, it will be on back order ...

As a side note: I tried to order through Jersey HD, but proved incapable to punch my credit card number into their form, as I got routed to some security query everytime, which apparently didn't work. Does anybody know if they accept orders via fax? Maybe it's a good idea to order some spare parts for the 2012 season now ... :headbang:

On the upside for HD, it appears they are hiring:

Yeah, there's loadsa companies out there that already carry cables for Buells and they're much cheaper than OEM.......I have a load on order and will report back re. quality when they arrive :? .......I'm guessing that they all come from the same manufacturer, we'll see ?

.......like I already said, I would much rather use genuine parts but they're getting stupidly expensive and almost impossible to obtain :headbang:

Without this adjuster then - the one on their website.

Unless it's only suitable for throttles

Strikes me they've forgotten their roots. Hoses are ten a penny.

It seems to me these ludicrous price hikes are a relatively recent occurence.

It smacks more of greed & spite rather than commercial forces.

Nige. :sad1:

It's fine saying parts will be available for 10 years but if you have to wait for months and pay ridiculous prices then people will look elsewhere if possible. This isn't Harley supporting the product, it's Harley taking the piss. I have worked for numerous boiler manufacturers and when they say parts will be available for ten years they are, on the shelf and usually at the same price. When the price has to go up due to reduced orders from suppliers it's never more than 30% or so.

The word "reasonable" springs to mind!
