Hello,
When ridden in very wet conditions, my 06 Ulysses goes onto what feels like 1 cylinder..! As soon as it drys up a little shes fine again.. Has anyone else encounterd this prob. and what is the cure ??

yep I had the same issue - plug leads

me 2. got leads from. answer is to replace the leads, and cable tie them out of the way. i didnt get genuine leads, but Magnecor ones from here

airbox has to come off to do it

You only need two bikes in life-an S1 and a Multistrada!

Mine is the same year with 10k on it no probs.

Could be a damaged lead or plug but just make sure the lead boot goes right down over the plug as well as the one to the coil.

And don't forget the di-electric grease on the plug tip. Really helps the seal.

...but does nothing for the walrus.

the front HT lead rubs on the frame or throttle cables as i found out when trying to figure out why my XB wouldn't start. i took a photo, and found it. getting the leads from sparkplugs uk was quicker than from the dealer

Yeah, the design of the XB means water leaks down to the front cylinder. I found that out after washing the bike and knackering the front spark plug.

So - get new leads, and make sure they have a good seal. Keep your motor running when washing the tank etc too!
