Could anyone provide information about replacing the 1998 stock steel box swingarm with a 2000 X1 alloy one ? Will it fit in without any particular modification - new rear axle? - belt tensioner ? - brake caliper ? Does it actually improve road holding - longer or shorter wheel base ? Thanks in advance.

Its a straight swap, but you will need the later adjusters. (probably not spindle, but not 100% on that)

It's a hell of alot stiffer than the standard POS, they look lovely polished up-or powder coated black!

Thanks, Motorrad. My X1 swinger comes with axle and adjusters. Obviously the job should be easy. I'll let you all know when it's done.
