Having been out playing on the X1 all weekend I decided it needed a bath. So I washed it for the first time since I've owned it and lo and behold the front mounting on the exhaust was snapped through on both sides. As I have, up to now, had little interst in tubers I haven't read all the posts but I seem to recall that this isn't unusual. The next question is what to do about it?

An observant MoT tester is likely to fail the bike so I shall need to do something in the next 12 months. The exhaust is a Wileyco and although not prefect it isn't dead either. Besides it sounds quite nice.

So, if I do nothing for the moment am I likely to have any severe problems?

If I have it repaired is the weld likely to last any better a second time?

If I replace it what is a reasonable option which will let me MoT the bike without too much effort?
