Hi, I am new here and have a problem ,I have been told by a garage that my front disc on a 1998 S1 has too much play on it, it`s done 16500 miles .Would replacing the six special bolts take up some of the freeplay? Or is it ffffed. I hit things with a hammer for a living so please explain any answers simply.Ta.

usually the alloy disc carrier wears around where the "bobbins" locate, if you can get away with replacing the spring wave washers you are lucky.
EBC do a good replacement!...

:yt: ....throw the disc in the bin and fit an EBC Proite with 249HH pads.

Thanks for the quick replies, will look into the ebc`s, I suppose the rear can stay or does it mean change the lot.

Unless you change the rear caliper it will still be crap with ebc disc and pads. The front is a good upgrade with the existing caliper.
