Having never had a belt driven bike in 34yrs of riding now need to remove rear wheel for new tyre so how do I release tension on belt are there any issues I should now about before removing, in other words what the f*** do I do also re balancing would you leave belt drive on etc, any issues for putting back on ta, a chain was so simple thanks spadger

rear spindle is tapered undo and tenshion is realeased :4roz:

I have my wheels balanced with the sprocket on, after all, that is how it is going to run in the bike...

...and your bearings will wear out quickly...

Torque settings can be found in the "How To" for fitting a Free Spirits Tensioner....

Could somebody do a "how to" of this in the "how to" section :?: I've never had a bike before (apart from my M2) that I haven't taken the wheels out myself, and I intend to start very soon :geek:

I,ve taken both front and rear wheels off however there were no spacers between wheel and swinging arm could anybody advise re this cheers

The spacers are inside the hub, between the bearings ;)

Cheers Adam when reading advice just assumed there were spacers between wheel bearings and swing arm, phew i havent any missing then although a bit disappointed at shagged rear wheel bearings with only 2500 miles on bike having to buy new tyres is bad enough, cheers for info John

That's not strictly true, Maz :twisted: I told you we replaced a set for Spook last week :lol: Taking a look at mine this week when we change tyres because you made me paranoid throughout the entire JOGLE run :roll: Can you post me some because we've never found the need to stock them? :lol: :rofl:

Funny as that is Steve, it's actually not doing your shop any favours on the reputation front.
Pretty much everyone the world over knows that XB bearings do well to last more than 5K.....only BB seems to be in denial.
I know you have to sell them but maybe your customers would appreciate you being a little more honest :idea:
