Sorry to be a downer but it's gonna get very wet with spray off your rear wheel & also covered in crud isn't it?

thats only if it goes out in the wet , I think you will find most are used on :sun: days only

Yeah, like my own I guess, but in saying that, I got caught in some heavy rain the other day and although I'm pretty sure the rectifier is a sealed unit, those connectors look very vulnerable.
Sorry, I'm not knocking the workmanship or fitting in any way, I'm just voicing a concern I would have if it was my bike.
Whilst we're here though on rectifiers & charging etc, has anyone thought about fitting a Zener Diode to shift the excess charge safely or is that old technology?

No worries ...dont mind constructive criticism :D
I did feel comforted by the fact the quality connectors are waterproof sealed and they were assembled using dielectric grease.
I don't think it's any more exposed than some Harley /Buell fitment under the oil cooler right at the front catching all the front wheel spray.
And yes, I am a rain dodger if I can avoid it!

Reminds me of a bloke I knew when we were teenagers back in the 80's who spent his life polishing his pristine GS 1000, even stripping his carbs off to polish each one with a cotton bud . It was soooooo clean the dealer offered to buy it back for more than he paid for it.
I have memories of him stopping when a load of us were out to shelter in bus stops if it started raining. Sometimes if it was prolonged rain and his mum would worry if it was getting late, he would push it home rather than get the spray all over the bike...... probably living in a hermetically sealed bubble now.

Yep. You are totally correct, they do get mounted in front where they open to rain & stuff.
I had forgotten about that.
I ought to have realised you would have thought about the mounting long & hard.
I apologise for my concerns, but always a good idea to voice them I think.
It looks very well mounted with a nice hefty heat sink.
