The tacho is sound it moves OK but the bike won't rev even if not under load it just misfires and feels like it's just holding back .

Update on me S1 , dropped it off last weekend at Maz's place when it was running on one cylinder and sounded horrible , picked the bike up today and sounding sweet.
Looks like some of the carb internals were the wrong parts and the timing was way out making it way too rich so after the new parts were set up correctly there's no black smoke now.
I then thought I'd take it for a little test and 2 miles in it ground to a stop , so I pushed it 1/2 mile home , then thought it must have gone onto reserve so off I went and same again after a couple of miles it just stopped.
Once I left if for a few minutes it fired up again but I kept the throttle to under 1/4 opening and got home, when I bought the bike I thought it was wise to fit a large clear inline fuel filter and I noticed the filter was empty.
So I removed the filter and fitted a new fuel pipe and this time I managed to cover around 10 miles without the fuel starvation, there is a slight hiccup around 3k when you bang open the throttle so I may try a larger pilot than the 20 now fitted or raise the needle.
Hoping for another test tomorrow to see how far I can get then I'll decide what to do with the bike , either off load or spend a small fortune on it.

I opened the fuel cap and blew through the breather pipe but not through the brather itself , hopefully it was the cheap filter I fitted .

Well the bike is finally now running good , when it came back from Maz's it ran OK but there was a flat spot at 3k and I was going to up the pilot from 20 to 25 then the last time I went out on it the silencer fell off.
When I bought the bike it had a one off silencer made for it by the seller who's business is making race pipes, anyway it was very short and loud and everything was hanging on the exhaust studs no silencer brackets at all.
I ended up buying a genuine 2.5" race can and the correct X1 type hanging brackets etc, once fitted I was surprised just how quiet it is but best thing is there's no flat spot or hesitation now.
So next on the list is a 61 tooth rear pulley, at the mo it's fitted with 55 rear and 27 front so it's a little lumpy in traffic , oh and I have a pair of X1 forks on the way this week to fit too.
I'm slowly going through the list of advisories from Maz and hope to get the bike stripped and fully sorted next winter if I keep it, the more I ride it the better it gets but I wish I hadn't bought it as I can see it costing a fortune to get 100% right.
