I've added a baro sensor (mounted under the seat) to my 2008 XB12XT. The sensor is a genuine (Bosch) Buell sensor and has been wired into pin 5 on the grey connector to the ECM (using the proper AMP connector pin from Farnell). The sensor is reading fine (live logging screen in ECMSpy shows baro pres. 92 KPa and baro 8 bit as 202, which according to the local weather station is correct. Where I am unsure is the configuration of offset 345 (0x159). I currently have this set to:

0110 0001 = 0x61 = 97, by selecting the following from the air pressure correction screen in ECMSpy:

Log pressure correction data
Read static pressure at key-on
Read sensors continuously
Use baro pressure (not MAP) sensor

I think for the bike to use the baro data to correct the fueling I also need to select;

Enable dynamic pressure correction

Which will change offet 345 (0x150) to 1110 0001 = 0xe1 = 225

I only have the baro sensor, and no MAP sensor,any help would be appreciated. I've searched for an answer on this but I've found nothing completely clear.

Thanks

This is the setup I applied to a BUEGB using a Buell OEM air pressure sensor attached to the air box. Value of he airbox pressure configuration byte is 0xC5 (= 11000101 binary).

Thanks Gunter, was the pressure sensor attached to the inside or the outside of the airbox? Also did you use just one sensor (i.e. no MAP sensor). My sensor is a Bosch 0 261 230 061 (same as one used in 1125R) I've mounted it under the seat where the bank angle sensor originally was before Buell moved it to the tail. As I said it does seem to be reading correctly with the default figures in the Baro Sensor table. My plan is to set the baro sensor to adjust the fueling continuously, as I do like to ride mountain passes (Alps and Pyrenees) and I've had a few bikes (even fuel injected ones) that haven't coped well at altitude. This seemed to be an easy solution to help the XB12 cope a bit better.

Hi Gunter,
I've just looked and I think I'm right in saying BUEGB is DDFI2 and BUE2D (mine) is DDFI3? So the airbox configuration byte is in a different location (not a problem) but has a different layout, so I'll need to translate your setting above.

These are the settings for a stock 1125 BUEZD, which does apparently not use dynamic pressure correction. Hex 0x70 is 0111000 in binary.

Thanks Gunter, it looks like I was almost right in the first place:

I had:

0110 0001 = 0x61 = 97, by selecting the following from the air pressure correction screen in ECMSpy:

Log pressure correction data
Read static pressure at key-on
Read sensors continuously
Use baro pressure (not MAP) sensor

The stock 1125 config just loses

Read static pressure at key-on and enables the speed based pressure adjustment (for RAM effect)

to give

0111000 = 0x70 = 112

Interestingly the Baro Sensor and Baro Corr. tables differ slight between them. The BUEZD provisions for a failed sensor by setting ADC 0 = 100 too.

Your information on the 1125R reminded me that my spare ECM came from a 2008 1125R (part number Y0152.1AM 08124). It's also a BUE2D ECM, it was supposed to have come from a stock bike but both the baro sensor and the speed pressure correction are turned off. The Baro Sensor and Baro Corr. tables are the same as the ones in my XB12XT EEPROM. I pulled a copy of the 1125 EEPROM before I reflashed it with an XB12 one.

Bones-how did this work out for you? Going to try this on my 08 XB9SX.
