Thanks, I'd got that far. I wanted to know more about what oil does from lifters upwards into the valve gear space and beyond.

I'll re-phrase that as I can see how an XB PCV valve might clog, but not the reverse. I guess we fuellers don't have umbrellas other than what shapes are moulded into the plastic cap? :?

I did exactly that above on my X1.
It still blows oil out... I just stuck the pipes into a plastic bottle. I suck it out with my pilar pump now and then.
