Tonights job is to fit new rocker cover gaskets to my M2 Cyclone.
I've bought the kit from Harley, which includes metal gaskets that go between the head and the rocker boxes.
My question is: Do I fit these dry, or apply a smear of gasket sealing compound to them?

Apologies if this has been covered before.

Thanks

Dry, but I actually put a bit of copaslip on mine so they come apart easier :yc:

Thanks Maz
Presumably, I set the piston at TDC before bolting the rockers down?

Bolt down in small increments in a cross pattern if you haven't got a manual. Then leave for 20 mins have a brew or a fag before you attempt to turn the engine to do the next set of rockers.

Set the piston to TDC bolt down the four large bolts to 20 - 24 NM in small increments. The three small bolts to 14 - 18 NM and the two cap heads to 10.2 - 13.6 Nm then as previously mentioned leave for 20 mins or more before turning the engine to let the lifters bleed down or you'll bend the push rods.........Dave
