Got sorted this evening guys , side stand switch is removed and the socket that the switch plugs into should of had a loop , loop was actually in a very similar connector instead. The one looped has a black and blue wire instead of tan and white and black.

Any one know what that 2 pin connector is for ? Blue and black wire down by kick stand. ?

Thanks again for all the help

I've a standard tail lamp ordered , there's a small led brake light at the moment on it and I've no brake lights either. I had the whole loom out of the front of bike before I spotted it. Was just going to cut cable ties off that were holding loom to frame by stand when I saw it, some eejit :-/

So how did that loop get into the number-plate lamp plug? You said you had no lights 'all of a sudden'...

I bought the bike 3 years ago , never rode it , took it aprt and rebuilt it . Got it going two weeks ago and took it to town one evening last week . Got flashed on was home and it was only then I noticed light was gone . I thought it was after blowing a bulb so as I dug into it , it wasn't a bulb.

Maybe I put the loop into the wrong one , can't remember doing it In between 2 surgeries and building a house . thanks for the useful comment tho :-)

:yup: You're welcome, glad it's sorted.
It read as though you'd always had lights and then, suddenly, not.... so I was thinking of the little green mischief-makers... lOl
