It's back!
Sometimes it just won't turn over and sometimes it dies momentarily a moment after pulling away but then it gets better!

I'm going to start by bypassing the side stand and clutch switches which I know I should have done a while ago! but I'm still confused about it even after studying the leccy diagram. Can anyone tell me where is the easiest place to bridge these buggers at source.

Also if anyone wants to chime in with advice please feel free. :4roz:

Here it is at the start of the "troubles"

You just answered your own question!

Like you said, AT THE SOURCE! lOl ie at the switch.
Pull the connector off each switch and join the wires... or bridge the terminals with a piece of wire eg paperclip (or preferably stainless welding or lock wire) if you don't want to cut the terminal off. Wrap (or preferably heatshrink) it all to keep the water out.

Nope that's not the source! that still leaves lot's of wiring and little joints all over the bike in exposed places and subject to vibration etc..

I was hoping for a more elegant solution (paperclips?? really?? :rotfl:)

Like ... "cut (these) four wires inside the headlamp cowl and join these two together"

YES, the switches ARE the SOURCE of the starter troubles on Tubers, wiring is rarely the issue. So start with the switches.
Some owners like to keep the option of returning the bike to standard at some point, so they might not want to chop anything off. This way it's quick and easy to eliminate the switches to at least determine whether you're on to something or barking up the wrong lamp-post.
And yes, whilst not everyone will have access to stainless wire, you can probably put your hand on a paper clip and it's roughly the gauge of the pins on the switch.
But then again, if you're confused by the wiring diagram, you probably won't understand that either...

See your point. Best to look at a wiring diagram. Manuals are available in this section.

Start off with the simple logical things and move up, hopefully not too far. :P
