Post subject:  XB12. Starts, ticks over nice but wont rev

Hello all. This is my first post so be gentle if I'm doing something wrong.
I have stripped down my Lightning, painted, cleaned and got it looking like new over the winter months.
It's been back together for a fair while now and I'm gagging to get back on it.
My problem is...
The bike starts pretty good, although now and again it struggles to get past the initial compression stroke.
When it starts it ticks over well and will do this for as long as you care to stand there listening to it.
It all goes bad when I try to Rev it. The slightest touch of the throttle and it stalls. A fistful of throttle will do pretty much the same thing. If I open and close the throttle it'll start to Rev but then back fires and then stalls.
I have fitted new plugs, leads, battery, cleaned all earth connections and fitted additional earth cable from battery to frame, seat rails and coil.
I have also, one by one, swapped the ECU, air temp sensor, oxygen sensor, cylinder temp sensor.
I have tried it with and without the bank angle sensor.
I have tried it with fresh fuel.
I have stripped cleaned and checked fuel injectors and also cleaned butterfly valve.
The engine check light lights up and goes out as it should too.
I am losing hair rapidly and patience are are almost as thin.
Any advice gratefully received.

Fuel pump? Fuel pump seals?

Hi thanks for the quick replies.
The frame/tank was emptied of fuel and was left empty for months, do you reckon that would cause the pump to fail?
I will check the fuel pressure next. I'll ask around for a pressure gauge/tester. I guess a car one might do the job.
The pump is noisy after it stalls.
Cheers

Just a thought.....
When I removed the cam cover for painting two of the cams came out.
I removed rocker boxes and refitted the cams and new gaskets.
I followed the workshop manual and aligned all of the marks.
The cam cover went back on and the timing plate was lined up with the marks that I'd scribed before removal.
Now, I've thought it over and over and am wondering if there's any possibility of the cam/crank timing being 180° out?
Surely if I strip it all back out and rotate the crank 180° and align the mark, it'll be in exactly the same place?
???

Post a link to a log file. Otherwise there's no way to find out, if all sensors are working correctly.

Thanks.
Sorry but I'm new to this kinda thing.
Do you mean a screen shot from ECMSPY?

Please begin logging to file before starting the cold engine, then let heat up in idle until head temperature reaches at least 130 degC, then try what you did before, where the bike is stalling.

Thank you Gunter.
I will order ECMSPY cable and get software then post my findings.

Perhaps you left a cloth rag in the intake?
It has been done before (by whom I won't say :D )

You have been given some great ideas to try. Hang in there!

Thanks for all the suggestions.
No rag in the intake as have had it apart several times checking and rechecking connections, wires and looking for my sanity.
The injector swap is definitely worth a look though. If had them out to clean and the wires weren't labeled so will give that a go.
Cheers

Sorry for the massive delay!
Thought I'd let you know that its all sorted.
Tested tps circuits with multi meter and found it was the fault.
Fitted a new one and it started and ran sweet as.
Thanks for all the tips and advice.
