 Post subject: Another recall question.
PostPosted: 02 Aug 2009 17:53
1, If the recalls have been done on your bike would your service book be stamped with the info of what was done and also, would the dealer who done the recall work have to register the work with VOSA.

2, The original owner of my Uly came from wales and my service book has been stamped with 8005 dealer number in it, but i dont know if it was for its first service or for the recall work, Tubbs says it might be Riders.

3, is there any visible indications on my bike that would tell me if the screen, sidestand, Bank angel sensor has been done, IE part numbers etc.

cheers
:yc: mark

You wont find anything in your service book, however try here to see if there is anything outstanding*...

Sadly, you can't rely on that link. It only tells you that a dealer 'CLAIMS' ;) a recall has been done, when in reality, it has not. This caused a falling out with me and the Mothership when I turned up at a dealers asking for a recall and them telling me that it had been carried out. Unfortunately they didn't know what the recall parts looked like and I did. It took photos, letters, multiple visits (at my expense) etc, etc to get the matter sorted and unravel an interesting 'scam' tale of the original vendor ;)
My advice is go to a reputable dealer wot knows their onions :D

Oh yeah, what a silly bunt I am...

I posted this cos my recalls HAVE been carried out but not claimed for.

No worries, I'll have them all over again...

Done abit more research,
The Bank angle sensor has been done, but the sidestand bolt and windscreen doesnt need doing. Riders in Bridgwater sold the bike and done the recall work, but i still cant find the 8005 dealership number which is stamped in the service book, a bit more investigation work needed me thinks.

Anyhoo its going to be in safe hand next week its going to Tubbs for its 1000 miler.
