Hi

I need to get my XB12s rims refinished. Gold lacquer is flaking. Anyone know a good company to do this.

If you'd looked in the Buell Chat rather than the tech forum, you might have spotted this thread. ;)

Thanks Norm but it's not always possible to spend too much time sorting though other areas of the forum. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for those who are clued up. I visit the forum when I can and contribute when I can. Forgive me for not being in the right place but I'd of thought that paint finishes are more technical than chat.

Sorry rant over

Not needed, IMO, I was just trying to help, hence the ;) .

Many such things are grey areas to many people.

I think the idea is to keep tech forum for stuff which is more in-depth than paint, oil or tyres. Essentially, I see it as being for people who are doing their own spannering so would be for info on torque settings, the right and wrong way to carry out maintenance / repair tasks, specs for bolts and fasteners etc

In general, if you are wondering whether something is for the tech forum or Buell chat, it should be in Buell chat.

IMO, of course, and that doesn't count for much. :yup:

Hi Muzz

I thought about anodising but the colour is only an ink dye put in at the later stages and I am concerned that it will fade.

Checked out the thread that Norm suggested and have been in touch with Reality Motor Works in Bristol. They do some great powder coat finishes so I'll probably go with them.

I have two sets of wheels done by Griffs, you might want to have a look at some of the work before you take the plunge...
