looks like Buell ain't gonna make it to the 10 year promise
What a waste :o

I think the 10 year promise will be from buy it new date rather than from when Buell were no more.

If they think that making it impossible to keep old Buells on the road, we'll have to buy a Harley they are seriously mistaken.

Not a problem at all.
I for one have only used HD for anything about twice in the last 7 years.
I have no inclination to give the buggers any of my money.
As for sidestands, any half decent pipe-strangler will have no problem knocking up a copy.

According to somebody I spoke to recently, it's not only Buell parts that are being made obsolete ...

I'll repeat the question; "when will this apply to all Buells, ie when will my XB also be considered by HD as obsolete?" :?

Is it now time to embarass the f*** out of HD for being so miopic?

IMO H-D already consider the XB to be obsolete.....try ordering parts and you'll see what I mean

Oh the poetic irony.

Maybe at last you are both in agreement then. Can't really rant that much about them abandoning a product you have manifestly rubbished online for a good few years now, can you? After all, my understanding is that a few words online can have quite a wide reaching effect. ;)

I would be less concerned if I owned a tuber, as so much can be done without HD, but the XB range is a bit specialised in terms of factory bits, ie fuel pumps, instruments, electronics, wiring, gaskets, and many engine parts which are not common to anything else! :?

A wise man would be looking at ways to build these parts under licence from HD or create compatible ones and sell to the market.

If the need is there then there must be someone who could step up and create/sell them isn't there :?:

True, but I guess there will be some knashing of teeth before that happens. Maybe we shouldn't be giving this subject such leverage? That could be what HDs CEOs want:?

What of all those late sales made on the promise that spares would be available for a few years to come? :?

A wise man may try, but the a$$holes at Harley Davidson won't let them get away with it ...
