I know what you mean. My 1125 can take me outside my comfort zone unless I'm careful :oooops:

Check the picture ........ is that Honda S1 or wot :?:

Actually it looks more like a Z1. It’s what Honda do best, copy and improve someone else’s design.

Rather have a z1 all day long, more attitude than a teenager and cheap and fast and dangerous and I love Kawasaki's anyway.

Both have about the same charisma as a washing machine, except they don't sound quite as nice :P

Competition for the Fazer, then.

Adam, speed does not make character. Same with boats and planes, some may be fast but, for character, you need something smaller. 8-)

I wasn't talking about character, I was questioning how anyone who rides a big Jap il4 sportsbike as 'boring'. The ones I've had a go on certainly weren't. The effortless speeds they were capable of made me very excited

As for the Tiggy Moths, there's two kept on grass strips around here (one between a brace of Dragon Rapides with about 20 spare zero time Gypsy Queen engines still crated, the other belongs to Mrs Adams boss) and they're both shite

Sorry, Mr Pedant, I have boring and characterless as the same thing. ;)

Whatever, the R1, 'blade etc, even the Fazer are, IMO, faster than you could or should use on the road but yes, they are boring. You don't look back at them as you close the garage door, you don't feel bad if they aren't working right, you don't care about them.

IMO, of course. Straight-line speed has its place (is my sig still the Yoffi quote?) but that doesn't make it less boring, you just aren't astride them for that long getting bored.

You're quite right about not caring about them but my last ride on a mates Blade had me gibbering with fear amd demonstrated how easy it was to scare yourself silly on them. That wasn't boring :D but I've no interest in owning one. I'd only moan about it if I did ;)

That is the problem with Buells IMO. Sometimes there is just no substitute for straight line speed. Doesn't occur often but when it does the Buell leaves me a little flat.

What you need is a selection...

Not my cup of tea, in fact, I don't like them at all. HOWEVER, the big Honda sports bikes I've ridden handle brilliantly and are as fast as fuck. How anyone can describe them as 'boring' is beyond me; have they ridden to experience what the bikes can do, I got a huge adrenaline rush and I was no where near the limits of what the bike was capable of :?

Ditto, when my uly was off the road for 6 weeks I had a Blackbird hire bike which in many ways was narcolepsy inducing but when you're at the traffic lights TT and you need to get a move on it was the most exciting bike i'd ridden, looking in the mirrors and everything else was a mile behind was quite exciting, that said I knew I was anonymous on it and it would always just 'do the job nicely' without drama or excitement.
