see my first post above, I lied!!!! well not quite lied more like got it completely wrong :oooops: When i asked the very kind people at Simply bearings to match me a bearing I gave them the number from my bearing except I forgot to put my fecking glasses on :headbang: and gave them the wrong number. The number of my bearing (actually bearings - there is 2) is 6203 in NTN which is 6203.2rsh.SKF in SKF.

thats the bad news now for the good news - the kind people at simply bearings refunded my £34 on my original perchase and sent me overnight delivery the right bearings which cost £9 the pair!!!!!!!! When I have recovered my self respect I will do a "how to" with lots of pics.

That's why I always buy from a bearing supplier and always buy SKF or similar.

FWIW, Unfortunately that often isn't enough. The world of bearing supplies is one of biggest "rogues and vagabonds" type markets I've ever seen. Beware cheap bearings with big names on because if they are overly cheap they will be-

a)Counterfeit (yes, it's true, I have seen many counterfeit "SKF" bearings).

OR

b)Extremely old stock (yes, I've seen plenty of these too and bearings do have a shelf life).

The quality of the bearing supplier is just as important as the name on the bearing box. I tend only to buy through big names like BSL. Just be careful what you use in safety critical applications.
