I have no idea. But just from guessing ("et on a l'affichage de l'AFV et la température moteur (culasse arrière sur ma XB de 2006) et un graphique de l'historique de la dernière demi-heure.") it seems like AFV and engine temp and a graph of the last half hour.

Hi there !
I'll try with my few English knowledge
Thank a lot for the activation !

The project with the tiny screen is quiet simple compare to the work done for ECMspy ! I just use the information given in the ecmspy website, how to connect to the ecm, the serial com configuration. The live data request, and of course how interpret them.

The screen is from 4D system ( http://www.4dsystems.com.au/prod.php?id=84 ) and is powered by a nice micro controller, an SD memory card, and of course a TTL rs232 serial port.

Everything is working, except some parasites. 1 or 2 time a minute, there is wrong data seen by the micro controller. But I think is mainly due to the non-reinforce cable going close to the ignition coils.

For the moment, the software is not really advanced, but there is lot of possibilities ! All live data are usable.. :) Actually, only engine temperature and AFV are printed and logged for roughly 30min.

See you soon, and do not hesitate for questions.
And, many thanks for ECM spy Mr Gunter

Bonjour et bienvenue :sun:

Good luck with getting rid of that, I had the same problem when logging with a Palm on my Firebolt where some parameters would drop out, so you would be reading the next parameter instead. I tried many things, including covering the cable with aluminium foil and crocodile clipping it to earth. In the end, to save me from editing the data in Excel, Gunter engineered the program to reject data with (I think) an invalid CRC. Of course doing this real time is going to increase processor occupancy so an earthing solution would be preferred.

Something I was always wondering about, is why errors occur mostly when the ecm is sending data. I mean, I would have expected, that there is a similar error rate when the ecm receives data (in relation to the amount of data, of course). But somehow the ecm seems a bit more fault-tolerant than the pda.

Anyway, I like that little display.
Would also make a good gear indicator :run:

Hello here,

Just few worlds to bring more information. I put the project on Google code, with a bit of explanations, and of course, source codes.

Hope my English not so horrible...

See you !

Great idea to make your project available to the public. I heard from many people, that they were interested in a small appliance, that shows just some basic readings and would allow to clear errors.

Thanks a lot for all your efforts!

Featured here ! :http://hackaday.com/2010/08/24/in-dash-motorcycle-display/

For the market :D I not claim about doing professional work, I'm not enough serious

The screens are available here for 65 Australian dollar: http://shop.4dsystems.com.au/serial-display-modules/207-1002.html
You need the USB converter (to load the program) here : http://shop.4dsystems.com.au/usb-to-serial-converters/215-2002.html
The program in google code here : http://code.google.com/p/mini-buell-ecm-spy/source/browse/uOLED-128-G1/buell_07.4dg
And a 5v source: http://code.google.com/p/mini-buell-ecm-spy/downloads/detail?name=Sch%C3%A9mas%20MiniECMSpy.pdf&can=2&q=#makechanges

And I try to follow this post for any question ;)
