So...
I decided to remove the oogly plastic handguards from my XB9, and while I admit I am no spanner-guru I have made a much bigger hash of it than I expected.
As I'm sure you all know, the bolts that hold the guards on also attach to the bolts that hold the levers in, and the smooth barrel shaped extender doesn't allow you to seperate the two... and when I tried, I snapped the lower one off the top of the brake lever, so now I can't even put it all back.
So - ideally I need replacement bolts to hold the levers in place - without entenders, (or a method to remove the smooth barrel-shaped extender) and some proper metal bar end weights to replace the cheap plastic nipples that now adorn my bars.
Can anyone help or advise in me fixing this mess, ...and also on the internal diameter of the bar ends so I can at least get some weights in there. - That's assuming that I can get these fookers out, without other bits of the bike inexplicably being connected and breaking off, or coming off in my hand.
(jesus, these bikes are a labour of love)
