Hi all,

Can anyone recommend someone to collect a bike from Ross on Wye and deliver it to the Portsmouth area?

I know I could hire a van and collect it myself, however it might just be cheaper to get it courriered instead, once you factor in hire costs and diesel. Does anyone have anyone they could recommend?

Alternatively, is there anyone out there with a van or trailer that wants a collection job this weekend?

Cheers,

Dave

Thought it was being delivered :?

SOS are about the best but at 75p a mile, you'd be better off hiring a van etc.....

Yep - so did I, but he's got a problem with his van so can't deliver it.

These people are offering collection / delivery for £100, which could be cheaper than hiring / fuel costs etc: http://www.motorcycledeliveryuk.co.uk/m ... vices.html (plus I don't currently have scaffold boards / tie straps etc.)

I will probably end up hiring a van, but thought it was worth looking into all the options first.

Cheers,

Dave

As Thomas Huxley said when first reading Darwin's theory of evolution, "How stupid of me not to have thought of that"!

I got a ZZR1100 moved from Dorset up to Cumbria for £100, all in was around 6 days as they moved a couple of other bikes on the way up.

Suited my mate who was getting the bike as it meant it arrived on the weekend.

They are up and down the country all the time, pm me if you want the details.

I found them through U-ship.com posted the job and then picked the guys who could do it in the timescale I wanted.

Yup, I can recommend JaneyMacTransport too.
I've used 'em before, and they'll be picking up my newly aquired X1 soon.
Pleasing prices and they really do look after the bikes, plus they're based down on the south coast :)

If this is the same SOS as in SOS motorcycle recovery that recovered me last sunday then I'll vouch that the 3 guys that relayed me home were great guys and big bikers themselves :yup:
