Ok, up until last week, in free flowing traffic especially at 60+ mph, the AT reading on my Buell would be around real air temperature off the bike ( I have seen it read minus 2C on a motorway before. In town it would quickly climb into the 20's and 30's if I got caught at lights. The coolant temperature has rarely risen much above 80C even in town.
I checked the coolant level at the weekend (for the first time

) and the coolant expansion bottle was empty. I topped it up to the cold fill level, and whilst I had the torx driver out, removed the seat, disconnected the noid', and fitted the resister.
Riding home from work tonight, the AT reading remained at 27C even when I was riding progressively. The coolant temperature was a fairly constant 75C.
Is there any logical reason the AT reading would be higher? What sort of AT readings do other people have?
