had buell 13months and had ecm replaced just before christmas cos exhaust valve motor was faulty . but since then no day the same reset tps and had her on ecm spy runs great when hot starts every morning and runs ok on warm up but comes off cold start or enrichment to early and leaves her asphmatic .coughs and splutters a bit for the next 2or3 miles once shes warm she runs perfect . im wondering if the ets is at fault and telling ecm it warm when its not like taking choke off to early no fault codes on spy :headbang: some mornings it doesent cough to bad .as it is i could never lend it to a mate to use cos it really does pop and fart and can die for a second as if engine dies cos no fuel but then cuts in and is ok .might even be ecm might even consider buell race ecm if it made it run better . dont know if it worth doin :maz:

Have you tried a TPS reset?

Best to adjust warm-up enrichment before replacing hardware. The temp sensors are allowed a large variation.

Can't really see the sensor error making *that* much of a difference...

What are we saying? +/-10%? I would find it hard to believe it could be worse than that. Looking at the mixture compensation for engine temperature, the worst case is at about 60 deg C whereby the compensation is 108 +/-3%. I can't believe Buell would have calibrated the ECM with a sensor at one end of the error spectrum and boldy having one at the other end of the spectrum...

I'm with you TFD, get a TPS done...
