Arge here
Told you i'd be back,
X1 lightning year 2000 12600 miles ,,,Dooooeer just how a bike should be.
First day out 300 miles sheer bliss.
second day out clunk rattle and my regulator and bracket broke loose [fractured round engine bolt hole] bounced of my front wheel and poped my oil filter B,,tards
then my seat lock went west.
Then a brown envolope marked Lancashire police they had something of mine, I hadn't even noticed my tax disc missing.
Then after dooing about 900 miles total ,bombing along bout 85 drop it in to top,,,,
Crunch grind [very loud]so i coasted to a halt with clutch in.Ba,,ards again
put it back in neutral set of home cautiosly over the Trough of Bowland.
Didnt get to use top gear for a few days but all seemd ok
Then went out every thing fine stoped ,,,
Then no gears at all,van home again,,,Ba,,erds again.
Took chain case of and out falls two dogs from in side gearbox
next stop Preton HD [int van]
six weeks later and £787.46p lighter.
I still think its a stonking good bike and i'm not gonna get rid of it.
Arge.

As was sugested,
i went to see Maz.
The out come goes like this. Maz is a decent honest bloke and will inform you what is needed to make a Buell in to somthing more reliable.
Now you cant grumble at that can you. Maz is not a portraiar of doom, he is there just to make Buell life even more pleasant than it is already. And on that note i'm off to try and sus out where my next £1500 will come from.
Arge.

I do not give a toss if it is a Tuber, XB, penny farthing with a supercharged 400 cubic inch engine or any other product for that matter. Tuber, XB what a bore . Old time religion.

It is a very well documented and proven fact that some of the early Buells had some serious reliability issues. That was noted in the buying market and was transfered, as it always is, to the newer version of the product.

I think a sorted early Buell is probably a great bike but I do not, then or now, have the luxury of someone who can sort them on my doorstep. It is enough of a problem to get my local HD dealer to give me the same size plugs and, given that it only has two to start with, is a real pain. I do a 140 mile round trip, to The Foundry, because they are the best I can find around here and that is just for an MOT.

I remember, VERY WELL, your comments the first time I came to this site. Cheese this, cheese that or cheese with cheese. You bought an XB "chuck-it in the river" your a moron for buying such a piece of shite. A great endorsement for the brand and only second to saying you get a free bought of "the clap" with your purchase.

I have always wondered why, given your hate of the XB range, you still spanner them. You do not have to. Do you. After all why would you soil your hands with such a poor "not a real Buell" bike.

Maybe, while you sit in your Ivory tower with you bikes and books, you might consider how much your comments have had an effect on those who have wanted to go with the brand.

Reality :?:. I dont do mail order :?:. Fair enough, Dude. Do as you wish its your life. Dont talk business, with people like me who do it, here though because you got about as much idea as "chop-ng cotton". Myself and family have been doing it for more than 60 years.

U-err Mr Grimly. Like I give a Fook.
