The harrier is a great idea, lets see if we can get a deal on two!
Now for the rest of the 'Top Gun' dream..... 1st you'll need a motorbike - sorted, then there's the white uniform - don't know, then there's the ability to quote 'gay icon' slogans - yep.

As for the coffee down shirt - - - that's just going to stain........
and there we are nicely back on topic :-)

So whilst yer all slaverin' on about how to remove the stains, I'm more concerned about how they got there

Never seen an XB do this before, so I suspect that someone has cocked up a breather mod.....if so then oil passing the breather grommets is the least of your worries.

Hi Maz,

The breather mod hadn't been done, the frame had a small amount of staining when I bought it and after each ride it was worse. I decided to do the breather mod and that's when I noticed the leaking grommet. Did you get a look at the photo's on the other forum? I'd be happy to ride up and let you take a look if you like, or I can take more photo's. The only other 'odd' looking thing is a pipe, I think from the transmission, that is cable tied to the rear suspension and ends behind the cooling fan, but it seems to be dry.

The oil misting/dampness around the grommets is quite normal......I would've expected to see the covers in your photos completely covered in oil and they aint :?
The 'pipe' cable tied to the rear shock is the trans breather.......long shot but worth a look......it hasn't burnt through on the rear pot exhaust pipe, has it ??

I think that based on the fact that Maz has said he's never seen this before, it has perked up his curiosity and stopped him recommending a long soak in a canal to get rid of the staining
Good luck

Ok - I bought it from Fowlers in Bristol.
Maz, I've just checked trans breather pipe & its in tact, it also seems really dry inside. Please don't make me put it in the canal - I've only just got back into biking & this is so much fun compared to my last bike (Thunderace) I just want it to look good as well as bring smile to my face.

I want a Harrier. One flew over work the other day to celebrate 50 years of the engine

It came straight for us quite low, then banked left before circling round and landing over the road, I felt like I was in Top Gun and wanted to spill my coffee down my shirt and say "Goddam it Maverick" 8-)

Like these Pash :ner: !!!

The fly navy 100 tail fin on the harrier was painted by me

Thats alot of staining like maz said! you will need something spirit or solvent based to remove that as others have said.
