Wasting your time reading that, it tells you nothing at all, I went to the shop, took the demo bike out, rode it reasonably hard, thought fuck me thats fast (not like I don't know what a fast bike is either) and said I'll have that.

What I would say, the 890 is £10400 and they are clearing the 790's (or they are on offer) at £7500, the 790 is a bargain and whatever your man says, its not as mental but its still a great bike.

I read all articles on bike in the press with a pinch of salt, its very easy to influence them, I ride everything I fancy, when I bought my Uly I took it back with 170 miles on the it.

Indeed. For me that goes for any bike, if you can try before you buy. My Benelli was slated by MCN, who conveniently loved the Honda cb500x. I rode both, the 502x is a much better bike both in the capability spectrum & spec. I've rode it in all weathers & it has stood two winters well. Cheap & Chinese built yes, neither the less good.

I try everything before l buy many times over in some cases. Try 10 years of riding demo Buells including five different XB9s before putting the deposit down on my own City X. I also read a lot, but mainly because l’m a bit nerdy in that respect anyway. lOl

However, reading about technical improvements did encourage me to go for an 06 model over an 05 before riding them both. Reading can inform you, but should not be the final arbiter of choice! ;)

My local dealer has just received their demo Benelli 752s and very pretty it is too in black. I ‘l’ll probably ride it 3 times before buying.......if l ever do. ;)

Tried lots of bikes l might have bought with great promise on paper, but were either a big disappointment or just not going to get my money after riding; Honda CB900F, Kawasaki GPz900R , Sachs 650 single, Suzuki VX800, Triumph Thunderbird 900 (69bhp version), Kawasaki GPz1100, Kawasaki W800, Triumph 675, Honda CBR600, etc, etc. :?

Keep an eye on the clutch on that Andy , Dino recently got a new one and it fried the clutch plates due to the oil jet that sprays the clutch getting blocked , apparently it has been quite a common issue with them ;)

How do I keep an eye on a clutch Kev?
I'll just ride it, if it breaks I'll fix it like all the other money pits :)
