Sorry to hear of your incident, and hope you are on the mend.

Putting the emotive aspect of the machine to one side for a moment, my understanding of what you have said is that you can keep the bike and they will give you roughly £1400.00 (60%).

1)Is the machine in your possession or at a yard somewhere? Just be aware that if it is not with you, cock up’s can occur, and the bike could disappear to a breaker before final settlement, I have seen it happen with cars. - NO, its a company called 4th dimension

2)Get an estimate for you to repair and then evaluate. In the meantime, play hardball on the settlement offered. I will bust it if I have to
The Buell I have ridden for the last 20 odd years was a Harley demonstrator that I bought from a breakers yard and rebuilt, so it can be done, and if you are still passionate about the marque go for it.

Sorry , Just read the updated posts

GET IT BACK if you hav'nt already .

My X1 was at a recovery yard in Essex and parts had already started disapearing from it , they said it was like it when they picked it up . Rubbish as I rode it to the Dealer for the insurance estimate . They said the insurance company told them to pick it up but at no time was I notified , I only found out when I rang the shop to find out when I could pick it up only to be told it was'nt there !

fingers crossed , don't let them fob you off :yup: :sun:

maybe because oil leaked from the clutch they think the engine is fucked
or it may be that new parts are "unavailable" meilleure mutuelle TNS, insurance is a weird game :headbang:
but you can repair it using used parts etc.

plus as it's an X1 in the best colour scheme (OK I'm biased)
so save it is an order, from the "Tuber Gods" :sun:

You can always turn to other distributors you know. Like oscaro for example.
